Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Welcomes First Babies Born in 2022

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Winchester is ringing in 2022 with the year’s first bundle of joys. The first set of twins born as the New Year’s babies at STRHS-Winchester in over a decade, Christian and Casey made their debut on January 1, 2022 at 2:41 PM and 2:55 PM at 34 weeks gestation. Parents, Austin and Chasity, are proud to share that their twin boys weighed 4 pounds and 4 ounces and 4 pounds and 2 ounces, and both measured 16.5 inches long.
“The staff did a great job!” said mom, Chasity. “The Childbirth Center is top-notch for premature babies.”
For over 50 years, Southern Tennessee’s Childbirth Center has been committed to providing high quality, compassionate care close to home for new and expecting parents in the region. Southern Tennessee’s Childbirth Center provides a complete program of medical, surgical and educational services to accommodate the unique needs of patients. The Childbirth Center offers free childbirth and breastfeeding classes for anyone delivering at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, 24-hour anesthesia coverage, and wireless internet access. Additionally, Southern Tennessee Regional Health System has teamed up with Erlanger Health System to bring 24-hour in-house neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) coverage to its Childbirth Center.
“I’m so excited that we had the opportunity to deliver twins on New Year’s Day,” said Dr. Ashley DeWitt OB/GYN of Premier Women’s Health Center who delivered Christian and Casey. “This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to deliver twins on this day. Southern Tennessee’s clinical and support staff are committed to creating a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for moms and babies. We are honored to help the families in our community welcome their newest additions in positive and memorable ways.”
